Frontier Scientific Solutions has announced a strategic partnership with Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) to launch a dedicated air corridor for the life sciences sector, providing uninterrupted temperature control and secure shipment integrity from origin to delivery.

The Wilmington-based company said the collaboration will create a purpose-built global air logistics network capable of meeting the stringent demands of pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device transport. The initiative aims to drastically reduce supply chain handoffs while improving compliance, visibility and speed.

Frontier’s CEO, Steve Uebele, described the launch as a “major milestone” in building a connected infrastructure for life sciences. With strategic hubs in Wilmington, North Carolina, and Shannon, Ireland, supported by a $1.5 billion investment from GID, the network will link Europe and the US, with further expansion planned across major global manufacturing centres.

Construction on Frontier’s 500,000-square-foot facility at Wilmington International Airport is entering its final commissioning and validation phase, targeting operational readiness by January 2026. A companion 70,000-square-foot site at Shannon Airport will anchor European operations, supported by a direct air route between the two locations.

The partnership will also establish a dedicated fleet of temperature-controlled aircraft and validated routes connecting key life sciences hubs worldwide. Greg Mays, president of ATSG, said the collaboration “applies four decades of air cargo expertise to reimagine how critical products move through the supply chain.”

Frontier’s model, cutting traditional pharmaceutical handoffs from over 20 to fewer than four, positions it as a disruptor in global health logistics.
