FedEx Corporation generated $1.6 billion in direct and indirect economic activity across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa (MEISA) in fiscal year 2025, according to its latest Global Economic Impact Report. Produced in partnership with Dun & Bradstreet, the report highlights how FedEx’s operations are supporting regional trade, employment, and innovation, with Sub-Saharan Africa identified as a major growth opportunity.

The company’s focus on digital logistics and operational efficiency is helping businesses, particularly in South Africa, access international markets while creating employment opportunities for young professionals. With Africa’s rapidly expanding e-commerce sector driven by the world’s largest youth population, demand for advanced logistics solutions is growing, and FedEx’s network is positioned to meet it.

In fiscal 2025, FedEx contributed 0.1 per cent to the MEISA region’s Transportation, Storage, and Communications sector and added $330 million indirectly to the wider economy — a 17 per cent increase from the previous year. Supplier engagement remained strong, with $704 million spent across the region, 82 per cent of which supported small businesses, reinforcing FedEx’s commitment to entrepreneurship and resilient supply chains.

Globally, FedEx’s operations now span 220 countries and territories, employing over 500,000 people and handling 17 million packages daily. Its $126 billion worldwide economic contribution underscores the company’s influence on global commerce and cross-border trade.

As FedEx continues to expand logistics infrastructure and integrate advanced technology in Africa, it is set to accelerate market access, sustainability, and regional economic growth.
