MG Motor and XPO Logistics accelerate aftermarket growth with new UK distribution hub

MG Motor has entered a long-term partnership with XPO Logistics to enhance its warehousing and aftermarket parts distribution across the UK, marking a significant step in the automaker’s operational expansion. The collaboration centres on a new 15,000 m² warehouse in Daventry, West Northamptonshire, designed to consolidate MG’s logistics under one roof and improve service to over 340,000 customers nationwide.

The new site, operated by XPO Logistics and staffed by around 40 employees, replaces MG’s previous Longbridge facility, streamlining stock transfers, improving planning, and cutting distribution costs. It also allows future expansion to meet growing demand. Leveraging XPO’s advanced Warehouse Management System, the facility will deliver improved stock accuracy, faster order processing, and greater operational efficiency.

Through XPO’s extensive automotive network, parts will be distributed to more than 150 UK retailers, with deliveries reaching 2,500 destinations nightly. Dealers can now place orders up to three hours later, ensuring next-day delivery before 8 a.m, a move that enhances customer satisfaction, shortens repair times, and optimises stock management.

The partnership also integrates XPO’s CO2 Dashboard, providing real-time emissions data to help MG monitor and reduce its environmental footprint. MG Motor UK Commercial Director Guy Pigounakis said the move reinforces the brand’s commitment to efficiency, quality, and long-term growth in its home market.
